Body Happy fitness centre will open its doors in Lewes on September 21st. Olympic gold medallist and brand ambassador, Sally Gunnell will cut the ribbon in a special ceremony to open the centre. Body Happy, a leading fitness provider for the over 40’s, is based at 40-42 Friars Walk, Lewes. Its brand-new state-of-the-art gym and treatment rooms will change the face of healthy living in Lewes.
Body Happy will provide bespoke fitness programmes that seek to improve the physical, mental and social wellbeing of its members. Just twenty minutes from the first centre in Hove, the Lewes centre will be even bigger. There will be two exercise studios for group fitness classes, two treatment rooms, changing facilities and a social area.
A word from our owner
Jenny Day, owner of Body Happy, said: “We want to contribute to a culture of activeness. As we get older our health goals will become very different. It might be to climb the stairs with ease or carry the shopping.”
She added: “We will adjust your mindset as well as shape your body to cope with physical exertion and remain healthy. With demand increasing for the NHS to meet requirements for exercise and rehabilitation, we provide a long-term solution.”
Jenny and her Lewes fitness team will be joined by nutritionist, Alice Godfrey, and stress coach, Anna Goodwin. Each individual service will work in close conjunction with one another, as well as other local healthcare providers including osteopaths and sports therapists. Body Happy aims to offer a comprehensive approach to health and well being.
The official opening will take place at 10am, followed by a speech from Sally Gunnell, who will remain at the centre until midday.
Sally Gunnell in Lewes
On welcoming Sally Gunnell as ambassador, Jenny continued: “Sally is a huge inspiration and she supports Body Happy’s mission. With her help, we will change people’s lifestyle for the better, no matter their age, gender or fitness ability.
“Having Sally on board furthers our belief that you truly can do anything when you set your mind to it. As the only woman to hold four major track titles concurrently, Sally has worked incredibly hard to achieve her goals. That’s the sort of motivation we want to instil in our members.”
The new centre will use state-of-the-art eGym equipment to personalise training and simplify the fitness experience for users. eGym uses smart technology to calculate the correct workout intensity for an individual based on their fitness levels. Settings are adjusted automatically, so members won’t have to worry about using the wrong weights or settings.
If you join before the September opening you will benefit from the first three months half price.
